Many RVers do not use their unit year-round. Some will put it in storage for the winter or for an extended period of time. It only makes sense that you should get a break on your insurance while your RV is in storage. Hoowever, there are still exposures that can do harm to your RV while it's not being used.
Be careful of insurance companies that offer to "suspend" coverage while your RV is in storage! Collision losses may still occur if your vehicle rolls down a hill and strikes an object or if another car hits your vehicle. States usually require liability coverage on all registered units, even if it's in storage and you don't want to have to turn in your plates just to suspend insurance coverage. Instead of eliminating coverage and increasing your exposure unnecessarily, talk to your specialty RV insurance agent about ways you can sve money while the RV is in stoarge. Simple measures such as raising deductibles and lowering liability limits will give you the savings you deserve while still providing the protection you need.

Nice Blog.
ReplyDeleteI like this blog.
RV covers can significantly increase the life of your RV no matter what type of RV you own and thus improve your return on investment (ROI).

Thanks for this warning. I wouldn't have thought that keeping it insured while in storage. I'll make sure to do this when I get an rv and the rv insurance in Calgary. Thanks again.
